I decided to make a film. I made this decision because I think this will step me out of my comfort zone. I have never used a fancy camera before and actually produced a film. I have the idea to convey a message through my film rather then it being random. I am deciding between racism, suicide, depression, or bullying. Even if my film only impacts one person, I would rather have that then a aimless film. I am excited to produce a film because I have never had this opportunity. I plan to work with one other partner, only because a large group would be too much to keep up with. Also meeting out of school and trying to abide by everyone's schedule would be stressful. Alisa is my partner and has great skills in editing and background music. She has a Macbook that will be helpful when putting all the clips together. I think I may produce a film about a popular girl (Sadie) who has many friends (Solenia, Marie,etc) at school and looks happy. Then she goes home and the camera captures her ...

Print journalism may interest me because print media has been around many centuries and has always been successful to issue information. Print has a way of making it into people's hands easily. Whether it is by someone picking up a newspaper on the side of the road or buying a magazine at a store, print media is a go-to news source.The magazine analysis that we did in class made me realize how each page has it's own thought-out purpose. Whether it is an ad or a article, a lot of work goes into it. I would be good at producing a magazine because I am very organized. Also, I am able to write articles very well and catch a reader's attention. Although the magazine would be quite a breeze for me, I may struggle with the online part. Uploading ads and making templates may stump me and cause more effort on my end.

I would like to produce a film that has a meaning and can impact someone. All the President's Men and The Newsroom were both films that were able to entertain an audience while educating about nation wide topics. The film would be a good choice for me because I have a very creative look to things. I am able to think outside the box and use my passionate heart to produce a substantial film. I see many issues that could be addressed by me during this film. I also know how to intrigue the teenage eye, because initially they are a large part of any impact. I love to be challenged. Production does not start for another 2 months, and I am already fantasizing about all the subjects I could cover and how. I may struggle finding actors to portray such a serious role or to meet my high expectations of acting. I also may struggle with control. I like to be the boss and may be harsh towards an other opinions. Ultimately, I am excited for this opportunity to influence people.
