Third Quarter Submission

Image
This is my third quarter submission. We made 3 main revisions, including cutting the intro time in half, adding a scene to make the time range, and re-filming the bedroom scene. We re-filmed the bedroom scene because there was minor mistakes. For example, the marker was red in one shot, and black in the other. This gave us the chance to add more action, hoping to reach 2 minutes. All in all, I am very happy with this revised product.

Revisions - Bedroom Scene

Image
A issue found in my film was located in the bedroom scene. Minor problems were found like a different color marker in 2 scenes, etc. To fix this, we re-filmed this scene completely. While adding these minor actions, I had the idea to print out a photo of Sadie's parents who play Mia's parents. We decided to do an over the shoulder of the character looking at the photo and the ripping it down the middle, separating the two parents. We were able to end it on the ripped paper on the floor which created the mood of a broken family, which is exactly what I was aiming for.

Revisions - Length

Image
A issue found in my film was the time. My film was about 30 seconds short of two minutes. I managed to add a scene to reach the 2 minute minimum. For example, we added a high angle of Mia leaning her head up against her door, showing her frustration. We also added an insert of her throwing her backpack and pushing through her dirty desk to find her notebook. In the end this helped convey the message of her being frustrated even more then anticipated.

Revisions - Credits

When my class watched Alisa and my midterm submission, they commented on many things that could be fixed or altered. The first one was the credits. They rolled for almost half of the film. To fix this, Alisa cut the credits in half, putting multiple names on each screen. Of course, this made the film shorter, causing the need to add more scenes.

Distribution Plan

Image
My plan for distribution is to produce a trailer, billboard, and a social media account. The trailer will of course be the main source of distribution, as it is for most films. This will give the audience a good idea of the meaning behind the movie, without giving away the plot and message. The billboard will catch eyes and create curiosity. This would hopefully lead people towards wanting to know more/watching the trailer. Finally, the social media account will attract the younger generation, whom I am aiming for. Social media being the youth's main platform, this will be a direct way of distribution.
