Digital Distribution- A Star Is Born

Image
A Star is Born is about 2 music artists falling in love. The two actors defeat odds and become successful in the music industry. The audience was able to experience the behind the scenes of what celebrities' go through. Sort of like my film, the audience is exposed to a behind the scenes look at someone life. The movie was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Its release date was August 31, 2018. The trailer of this movie was the main way of distribution. When the public saw that Lady Gaga was a main character, it caught many eyes. This distributing factor does not help my film because it does not have any large celebrities in it.

Digital Distribution- A Hidden Life

Image
A Hidden Life is about a man refusing to fight with the Nazis. The title directly relates to my film of almost living a double life. Both this movie and my film combat real world issues, attracting many curious audience members. Release date: May 19, 2019 (France) · Dec 13, 2019 (United States) Director: Terrence Malick Gross revenue: $4.10 million USD

Digital Distribution - Wonder

Image
The movie Wonder is a 2018 movie about a boy who was born with facial differences, who eventually overcomes the odds and makes an impact on his town. Just like my film, this is about a young person overcoming the odds of something out of their control. Although this movie was a bit more family oriented then mine, it served the same purpose of helping people. Wonder had many production companies including Lionsgate (presents) Participant (in association with) (as Participant Media) Walden Media (in association with) TIK Films (in association with) (as TIK Films [Hong Kong] Limited) Mandeville Films

Distribution Research

The traditional distribution model for a film includes big-budget productions. This includes sale agents, hotel chains, airline chains, TV companies, a more big industries. I would utilize this model for my product by taking advantage of a sales agent. Hopefully, this sales agent would market my movie to film festivals, movie companies, billboards, etc. Traditional distribution includes catching the potential audience's eyes and making them want to see the product in theaters. My goal would be that with enough trailers, billboards, and selling to other distributors, I could make this happen.

Marketing Plan

Image
Based on my research of other films, I plan to market my film using social media, specifically Instagram. Social Media is one of the largest and easiest ways to reach people, especially teens. Since my target audience is the younger generation and they are the majority of people on social media, this will be a great way to market my product. Of course, on top of a social media account there will be billboards, trailers, and online ads. This will hopefully spread the word and persuade people to see the film. I feel as if online marketing would be more beneficial to me then anything else, due to the large array of people it has. I can use online sources to promote the film and hopefully catch someone's eye who is in the same situation, or close to, as the movie. This way they can be curious about the film, and later impacted.  I also plan to use a trailer as a way to market my film. This way, potential viewers will see the overall idea of the film, and hopefully be engaged enough ...
